Sydney Hydronic Heating is a system that supplies heat throughout the area with the help of hot water flowing through the tubing. The installation procedure under the flooring of new construction is easier because the entire installation is pre planned and done step-by-step at the right time. However, it is a bit difficult when it has to be done to an already existing home.
Things to consider while installing Sydney Hydronic Heating for existing homes:
• Whether the foundation of the floor is built on timber joists or concrete slab – in case of a concrete slab, the extra height increase will be about 85mm whereas for the timber joists, the height in increase will be 2mm.
• Whether the height of the existing floor can be increased– before starting work, it must be considered whether any cupboards, doorways and doors will be disturbed.
Among the various methods on Sydney Hydronic Heating, hydronic radiator panels cost less for existing setups than hydronic underfloor system. However, underfloor system is more effective than radiator panels.
One method to reduce the cost is by removing nails floorboards and chipboards. In addition, one has to provide a very clean surface without any glue or debris, whatever flooring type it may be. An Australian home needs 20 to 21 degree centigrade of heat for doing hydronic heating. The underfloor heating will start working only when the room requires heat or the temperature drops. Sometimes, high efficiency heat pumps in combination with thermal storage tank are used in this system. Moreover, geothermal pipes in combination with air to water or water-to-water heat pumps are also used.
